The 14th General Election; Pakatan’s Bitter Sweet Pill!

images (6a)

The 14th general election in all respects will be a bitter sweet pill for Pakatan Harapan.

The 14th general election will be bitter because things are not looking very promising for Pakatan Harapan. The divisions that have always been within the coalition are deepening.

To have an indication of the Pakatan’s discord, just read how Badrul Hisham Shaharin (Chegu Bard) explains it.

Beritadaily: “Some of those in the anti-Azmin faction are Rafizi Ramli (Pandan MP and PKR vice president), Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (PKR secretary general) and Nurul Izzah Anwar (Lembah Pantai MP and PKR vice president).

The Selangor Menteri Besar is well aware of the dog eat dog climate that exist in the Pakatan coalition; after all their coalition was born out of strife and chaos. This is no doubt why Azmin Ali is trying to find allies in PAS that will help him stay in office.

There was a time Azmin thought that he could solicit the help of Tun Mahathir to climb up the political ladder; but the former prime minister has only one shot and he is using that one shot to try and keep his son (Mukhriz) head above the water.

However, least we think Azmin Ali will be the recipient of the bitter pill we should also look a few components in the Pakatan coalition who are well aware that the bitter pill is coming with the 14th general election.

Mat Sabu and Amanah had a credible base when they were part of PAS, but lost that credibility after they were enticed to run over to the DAP. Now they (Amanah) are only seen as another assortment of puppets for Lim Kit Siang to parade before the Malays.

For former deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin; what more can be said. Every time he looks at the seat that he once occupied he realizes that he was dupped!

The bitter pill for Mukhriz Mahathir is the realization that the 14th general election is it; there will be no encore. Mukhriz will only be listed as one of Mahathir’s children. A man who was thrust into politics, but like Datuk Wan Azizah Ismail does not have the tools or temperament.

Tun Mahathir bitter pill; knowing that he cannot build the dynasty that Lee Kwan Yee has; and perhaps that is why he (Mahathir) threw his hat back in the political ring. He knows that his son cannot carry the mantle, so he wants to go into the history books as being Prime Minister twice.

Lim Kit Siang’ bitter pill leading up to GE14 is Tun Mahathir. When you marry or partner with someone who you don’t like and who doesn’t like you, the results are never good; no matter the spin one tries to put on it.

Still it is not all doom and gloom for Pakatan Harapan. Where there is a Yin there’s a Yang. So where the 14th general election provides Pakatan Harapan with the bitter pill of defeat, it will also provide them with a sweet pill.

Their sweet pill is that Pakatan’s defeat in the election will be seen as payback for all the slanderous allegations which they brought forth against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and PAS president Hadi Abdul Awang.

Pakatan Cracking Under the Weight of its Own Duplicity!

Selangor PKR dissatisfaction over the choice of Tun Mahathir as Prime Minister and Datuk Wan Aziza Wan Ismail as deputy Prime Minister to be shows that Pakatan is cracking under the weight of its own duplicity.

Below is one of the resolutions that PKR information chief Hizwan Ahmad shared.   Read what it says and infers.

“With what remains of democracy and freedom of speech, Selangor PKR expresses its frustration and disappointment with the announcement of PH’s candidates for prime minister and deputy prime minister.”

So while the DAP-led Pakatan opposition was trying to paint the picture that everything was copasetic, things have been festering behind the scenes.

But what is somewhat I am sure many are finding surprising is why did Selangor PKR wait until the eleventh hour to voice their objection about both Tun Mahathir and Datuk Wan Aziza Ismail as potential prime minister and deputy prime minister?  No doubt they wanted their man Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali for either the top spot or the number two spot.

For PKR Selangor to want the above scenario would also prove that there is another camp in PKR that wants Datuk Wan Azizah Ismail out; and give credence to the following excerpt in Malaysia Today’s Corridors of Power.

“In fact, Azmin is planning to challenge Dr Wan Azizah for the party presidency. Once he takes over as PKR’s President he will want to take over from Wan Azizah the post of Deputy Prime Minister as well. There is no way Azmin is going to allow that post to fall to Mukhriz when it ‘belongs’ to him.”

Apparently the Selangor Menteri Besar has been planning to topple the PKR president (Wan Aziza) for some time and now feels like Tun Mahathir; if it doesn’t happen now, it never will.

So there is Tun Mahathir planning to double cross Anwar Ibrahim and no doubt Lim Kit Siang and Azmin Ali planning to make his move on Wan Aziza Wan Ismail.  There is also Azmin Ali plotting to block any chance of Mukhriz becoming anything but a visitor in Putrajaya.

And of course there is Selangor PKR which does want neither Tun Mahathir nor Datuk Wan Azizah as choices for prime minister and deputy prime minister respectively.

Like an unfolding bad drama, those are the betrayals that are on the surface of Pakatan.  There is little doubt as the 14th general election gets closer desperation may cause Pakatan to crack even further under the weight of its own duplicity!

In Pakatan’s So-Called Coalition of Equals, Some are More Equal than Others!

Pakatan Harapan likes to laud that it is a coalition made up of equals, but as recent time has shown it is not as equal as it portrays itself to be; as some are more equal than others.

The recent event in Penang where the DAP-led government cast PKR to the side in favor of one of their own shows that all is not right in DAP-led coalition.

In a NST (New Straits Time) article; People’s Alternative Party (PAP)  vice president Rahmad Isahak accused DAP of being arrogant and belittling PKR despite PKR holding ten (10 ) seats in Penang’s legislative assembly.

The PAP vice president (Rahmad Isahak) made the remarks after the PKR Bunga assemblyman Cheah Kah Pang was prevented from handling the flood aid.  Instead the DAP-led Penang government gave the task to one of their own; the Pulau Tikus assemblyman, Yap Soo Huey.

While there is no crime to look out for those in your own political party by throwing them a bone or two; there is a problem of perception when there has been so much hoopla made over how equal the DAP-led Pakatan opposition and then they turn around and pull what they did in Penang.

Making such a move/switch was a slap in the face to Cheah Kah Pang in much the same way Lim Kit Siang getting Tun Mahathir to be his (LKS) DAP-led Pakatan opposition chairman was a slap in the face to PKR’s Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Azmin Ali, Datuk Dr. Wan Azizah Ismail and Amanah’s Mat Sabu.

However politically misguided those in PKR and AMANAH may be, them not having a chance to be chairman or chairwoman only proves that there are only a select few in Lim Kit Siang’s DAP-led Pakatan coalition that are more equal than others.

Many could see how Mat Sabu and others were coaxed out of PAS to form Amanah; only then to be treated more like an awkward prop that is to be displayed and less like a partner in the so-called coalition.

Now compare that to PPBM.

Even though the role of Tun Mahathir and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) is much the same as that of AMANAH and even PKR, the equality equation seems to be more skewed in Tun Mahathir’s direction.

There is no way for Lim Kit Siang justify Tun Mahathir’s elevated status as a result of his long years of service to his (LKS) opposition because Tun Mahathir long years of service has been fighting against Lim Kit Siang and his evangelical plans for Malaysia.

Yet even with the many years of antagonism between them, Lim Kit Siang still made Tun Mahathir more equal than other coalition members; proving that he (LKS) defines equality.

Therefore with the DAP leading the coalition, the events surrounding the Penang flood aid disbursement should be of no surprise; it just proves that in a coalition of so-called equals, some are more equal than others!

Lim Guan Eng Criticised PAS for Floods in Kelantan; Now Look!

There is a saying that goes; water finds its own level as Lim Guan Eng is finding out.

Penang Menteri Besar Lim Guan Eng had criticised PAS for floods in Kelantan and now Lim Guan Eng is facing a deluge of water in the state he is administering.

Only recently Lim Guan Eng was faced with a tragic landslide

Now Penang is facing flood water that is close to two (2) meters high.

It would be convenient for Lim Guan Eng to say that there was nothing his DAP-led administration could do about the rain as it is the result of the global warming!

It is strange how flooding is be said to be the result of global warming in Penang, but Lim Guan Eng would refer to the same type of flooding in Kelantan as a failure of the PAS government.

But the DAP-led Pakatan opposition seems to have a pattern in this regard; failure to see their own failures.

We only need to look no further back than to Tun Mahathir’s Bugis Pirate remark.  None of those in DAP-led Pakatan held or to this day is holding Tun Mahathir accountable for his remark.

From de facto leader all through the upper echelon; all of their lips have been glued together with respect to Tun Mahathir’s Bugis Pirate racist statement.

So today Datuk Salleh Said Keruak called on Lim Kit Siang to clarify his and DAP-led Pakatan’s stand on the bugis remark.

There is even of question of whether Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Azmin Ali would censure Tun Mahathir over the slur.

The Third Force (TTF): The onus is now for Azmin to prove if he is loyal to The Sultan of Selangor. Back in 2014, PKR committed democratic thievery by fabricating evidence against the then Menteri Besar. When the Sultan intervened, top party leaders and even Lim Kit Siang insulted the palace by telling His Royal Highness to stay out. To this day, neither faction has apologised to the ruler. Will Azmin now do what is necessary to redeem his party’s dignity or is he going to sanction Mahathir’s slur by keeping mum?

It has become quite apparent that throughout Lim Kit Siang’s DAP-led opposition that they are quick to point a finger and are blind to the other fingers pointing back at them.

And there is another one that goes

Looking at how DAP-led Pakatan refuses to look at its own faults; Lim Guan Eng’s fixation on looking for faults with PAS and UMNO and being oblivious to the waters rising around him is of little surprise. He even criticised PAS for floods in Kelantan; now look!

Pakatan’s Post GE14 Economic Plan; Empty Promises and Beer Festivals!

Pakatan seems to have finally forged their post 14th general election economic plan. It consists of making empty promises and hosting beer festivals to bring in revenue.

On the flip side, we have world leaders (US President Trump and UK Prime Minister Theresa May) inviting Malaysia Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to visit their nations.  There is even a Bloomberg report that states that both Malaysia and Hong Kong are the biggest Asian growth surprises.

Part of the report reads: (Bloomberg) The two nations received the largest upgrades for this year among major economies in the Asian Development Bank’s latest outlook released on Tuesday. Click the link below to read the full article.

The report comes on the heels of other economic successes that are bringing in investments from China, India, Japan and other nations.

In contrast to those accomplishments, Lim Kit Siang’s DAP-led Pakatan opposition can only make promises.  Some examples of these promises are:

Tun Mahathir promising to build another Proton

In a response to the above proposal, the communications and multimedia Datuk Salleh Said Keruak tells Mahathir to get real about ‘another Proton’.

In an attempt to lure the votes in Sarawak, DAP-led Pakatan is digging in their empty sack to for more empty promises; placing them under the guise of a new deal for Sarawak.

Read RPK’s ‘Does Mahathir think Sarawak is stupid’ response below.

Lim Kit Siang’s DAP-led Pakatan opposition has further their desperation by trying to bait the government into allowing a Beer fest of sorts to take place in Kuala Lumpur.  However, due to security and other concerns the doors are closed to this activity taking place in Kuala Lumpur.

Now the question becomes; will Selangor Menteri Besar welcome the Beer Fest in his area?  How can the Muslim components in Pakatan Harapan openly support this type of activity?

PAS president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang and the rest of PAS must be shaking their heads thinking; ‘they wanted us to be a party to this type of behavior’.

All things considered, it’s mind boggling how DAP-led Pakatan can criticize Najib for bringing in foreign investments when the only economic plan they have to offer Malaysians consists of empty promises and hosting beer festivals!

Pakatan Doesn’t Trust Each Other; How Can They be Trusted to Govern Malaysia!

AzminAli Rafizi

If Pakatan Harapan is having all types of trust issues among themselves; how can they expect Malaysians to trust them with the nation?

Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali went behind DAP-led Pakatan’s back to try to pull PAS back into the Pakatan opposition camp even though DAP-led Pakatan issued an edict saying there was to be no contact with PAS.

It seems that Azmin knows that without PAS, not only will Pakatan have little chance in the next (GE14) general election, but there is a great possibility that he may be out as the Selangor Menteri Besar.

Not wanting to face that prospects of being jobless, Azmin Ali has for some time been trying to entice PAS back into the fold.

Again he has been doing this against the orders of the coalition.  Therefore, one has to ask; does the Selangor Menteri Besar have cart blanch to go against coalition wishes or are his actions systematic of how dysfunctional things really are in Pakatan Harapan?

Unfortunately for Azmin Ali and DAP-led Pakatan his effort has not provided the dividends that he had hoped; PAS has recently rebuffed DAP-led Pakatan’s overtures by stating that it never really wanted cooperation with their coalition.

Of course PAS saying no will do little to dissuade DAP-led Pakatan. They (PH) know that the general election is probably months away and still find themselves in desperate need of Malay votes.  As such, don’t be surprised if you hear about Azmin once again going against the coalition’s directive and try to coerce PAS into returning.

But Azmin Ali is not alone with it comes to running roughshod and doing one’s own thing in the DAP-led Pakatan opposition.  alone.

Recently, Latheefa Koy has come out and said that Rafizi Ramli was the architect behind the now infamous ‘Kajang Move’.

You can read the sordid details in the following link.

Latheefa had seemed to be willing to hold on to this info until Rafizi started to publically point the finger elsewhere.

It seems that Rafizi has not heard the expressions; Let sleeping dogs lie or don’t stir up the hornets’ nest!

With the combination of political backstabbing, breaking rank, infighting and airing out dirty laundry in the public; one has to wonder how a coalition in such disarray can ever hope to govern a country when it is very apparent that they do not have enough discipline to manage events within their own coalition.

Perhaps Datuk Seri Hadi Awang saying that PAS does not trust Pakatan Harapan due to the unfolding events in Pakatan and other issues PAS feels are important.

Given the events which are taking place in Pakatan Harapan, it is of no surprise that PAS does not trust them.  In fact, if Pakatan can’t trust each other; how can Malaysians trust them with the nation?

Pakatan Harapan And Minions Prayed Their Fate Would Not Rest On GE14!

It is safe to say that Pakatan Harapan (DAP, PKR, Amanah) hoped that their fate would not have to come down to GE14 as that would without a doubt be the proverbial straw which would break their collective backs.

How things have change.  This time a year ago Pakatan Harapan along with Tun Mahathir thought that 2016 would have them installed as the kingpins and certainly the king makers in Malaysia.  However, instead of being kingpins they found themselves as bowling pins being knocked down repeatedly.

It may have also been around the same time when the unnatural alliance of Pakatan Harapan, ANC, Tun Mahathir and their assortment of other players were prematurely patting each other on the back for a job which they thought was well done.

The job in reference was to remove the democratically elected Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Najib Razak from office.

The cohorts may have even gone so far as having discussions on which cabinet posts would be given to which party; in other words diving up the spoils of war.

However, what they probably did not discuss at that time was the release of de-facto Opposition leader Datuk Anwar Ibrahim from prison.  After all why would that even be discussed as the Opposition conglomerate believed that victory was at hand without his assistance so they seemed more than content to allow him to finish his time behind bars.

It was also around a year ago that many people believed that Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali was making his big play to become the new Opposition leader or at least to land a higher post in government.

Perhaps while Azmin Ali was dreaming of his next big move, Tun Mahathir was already licking his chops over the idea that his son would soon be one position (DPM) away from becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Still while all of this dreaming was going the Opposition grossly overlooked the most important factor in all of this; the rakyat.

Pakatan Harapan and all of those with them have failed to understand that it is because of the trust the rakyat has in Team Barisan Nasional and Prime Minister Najib Razak that they have been given the mandate to lead the nation.  It is this mandate which has to be of concern for Pakatan Harapan as they and their cohorts have all but admitted that they cannot defeat Barisan Nasional in a straight fight.  That is why Pakatan Harapan, Tun Mahathir et al were hoping to unseat Najib before GE18.  They knew that if he were still in office prior to GE14 that would be a clear signal that they were defeated.  And the last time I checked, Najib Razak was still in office!
