Anyone who has been around for over the last three (3) decades is probably familiar with the Star Wars films.
For those who have not seen it; here is a short summary:
On one of the equation, there are some really bad guys led by an evil leader who are determined to overthrow the democratically elected galactic government. To counter this evil force there exist the Jedi order that use their power to protect the people from the evil which is trying to take over. It is finally revealed that the Chancellor who had been masquerading as a good guy is in fact the leader of the evil empire.
The battle of good versus evil ensues with good eventually becoming triumphant.
Had all that not taken place “A long time ago in a galaxy far away” one would certainly be inclined to believe that the movie was a politics in Malaysia as of late.
There are those like DAP-led Pakatan Harapan who are trying to overthrow the democratically elected government and are seeking to align themselves with those who share their notorious aspiration.
Cast in the roles of workers of usurpers of democracy, you have individuals like Lim Kit Siang, Tun Mahathir and former deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. They like the evil chancellor in Star Wars hid among the other politicians while hatching their plot to take down the government.
However the Jedi Master (Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak) is wiser and more skillful than those who practice their evil arts. For his part, Najib like a true Jedi Master does not have to exert much effort to dispatch of those who seek to disrupt the foundations of democracy. A well placed word here and a video shown there was all that was required to cripple those would be adversaries.
Case in point:
For any who have followed Prime Minister Najib’s address during Umno’s General Assembly, there was little doubt that he was a man who is fully in command of the party in which he serves as president and the nation he serves .
During his address, Najib did not have to rant or rave and there was no need for hyperbole; he simply told the truth.
The truth waxed eloquence compared to the type of rhetoric which usually proceeds from the DAP-led opposition and Tun Mahathir.
However this was not the situation following Najib’s address’ during Umno’s recently concluded (1~4 December 2016) General Assembly. DAP-led Pakatan Harapan had no rhetoric, sound bite or spin to counter Prime Minister Najib’s exposure of the DAP’s political agenda. (Here)
One could almost claim that during Umno’s General Assembly Prime Minister Najib Razak gave a master’s class in politics proving to his detractors once and for all that…
The Force is truly with this one!
