From the lack of participation at yesterday’s Bersih 5 rally it appears that the rakyat finds it quite hypocritical for DAP-led Pakatan Harapan to call for democracy when they themselves do not adhere too.
Think about it. Over the last few years Pakatan Harapan tried everything they could in a non-democratic manner to unseat Malaysia’s elected leader; Prime Minister Datuk Sri Najib Razak.
The group of bandits (DAP, PKR, Amanah, ANC and more recently Tun Mahathir’s Pribumi) work night and day conniving on how to skirt the laws of democracy to bring about a change of government here in Malaysia in advance of any election.
The fear of a democratic election that will tentatively take place before or in 2018 is so great that DAP-led Pakatan Harapan along with Tun Mahathir would rather set aside the rule of law than to face losing in the general election (GE14) .
If nothing else the three (3) elections already held in 2016 in Malaysia was a litmus test or a view of what looks to be the inevitable in GE14; a major loss for Pakatan Harapan which accounts for their great fear!
Even securing the services of Tun Mahathir did not add anything to the plus column for Pakatan Harapan. If the lack of a turn out at yesterday’s (19 November 2016) Bersih 5 rally was any indication of Tun Mahathir’s ability to draw a crowd, then again the rally was a utter failure.
It would have been better for Tun Mahathir’s ego had he continued on with his ‘scheduled’ trip abroad. If he had, he could later say that had he been presented he could have helped!
Remember that was the same line he used when his son former Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir was removed from office and then subsequently booted from UMNO. His excuse, he was too busy.
Still while Tun Mahathir participation could be a significant reason for the minuscule turnout at Bersih 5, there may be an even larger factor; Democracy!
Over the past few years, the rakyat has watched, listened to and read various claims the DAP-led opposition has made against Prime Minister Najib Razak. However, those accusations were only claims devoid of any proof.
Again, for the hard core Bersih followers “Devoid of any proof”
With all the mud that Pakatan Harapan has slung at the Prime Minister; there is no proof of any wrong doing; in fact he has bee exonerated.
This blatant absence of proof has caused the rakyat to question the real motives behind the Pakatan Harapan and Tun Mahathir’s rush and willingness to brush aside Malaysia’s democracy.
The answer as with any other attempted coup d’état is ‘Power’
All of the conspirators involved want some aspect of it. For some it could be the path to easy riches, others it could be political leverage. As for Tun Mahathir, everyone knows his motive is to remove Prime Minister Najib Razak in order to set the stage for his son Mukhriz to become Prime Minister. Even Datuk Wan Azizah could not avoid using yesterday’s platform to ask for her husband’s release.
The myriad of agendas as well as Pakatan Harapan’s constant dooms day messages have to a large degree turned the rakyat off and in large part kept them away from Bersih 5 yesterday. Malaysians did not want to take part in a rally that where people bellowed out the cry of democracy only when it suits their purpose.
In other words; the rakyat sees the hypocrisy in DAP-led Pakatan Harapan’s call for democracy when all of their efforts to remove the Prime Minister have been contrary to it!
