For any of you who have had the misfortune of being caught in a tropical storm than you can relate to the calm that is present in the eye of a storm.
One can witness all kinds of mayhem taken place all around the eye, yet when the eye is over your, there is complete calm. You almost wonder how it is possible that there is no chaos within the eye when so much is happening.
That is exactly how Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak can be viewed. His detractors (Pakatan Harapan, ANC et al) are constantly trying with little success to create a storm in which they can use to topple the Prime Minister. However, with each and every attempt the Prime Minister does not appear rattled by the antics and accusations of those who would seek to overthrow the democratically elected government.
Leaders do not succumb to the chaos others try to create around them; to do so would certainly spell the end of their period of leadership. Leaders like Prime Minister Najib Razak maintain their poise and do not act too rashly one way or the other when unfounded accusations are swirling around them. It is paramount for them to continue the mandate that the rakyat has entrusted them with. And a major part of that mandate is to steer the nation towards an even brighter future.
This is a strong suit of Prime Minister Najib Razak; he keeps his eyes steadily focused on the job which he is tasked to do. That also means navigating through rough waters of rocky terrain when the need calls for it and to do so while keeping the nation steadily moving forward.
Some people may believe that being Prime Minister is a job which almost anyone can do. However, people who think that way are the equivalent of political back seat drivers who always believe they have the perfect solution for the nation. Of course any task seems easy when you do not have to be ready to carry it out 24/7, 365 days of the year.
It is like when a family member or a friend brings their child over for a visit and you not having any children pull out all of the tricks you know to make the child happy because you know at the end of the day that child is going home and your responsibility is over.
It would be a totally different situation, if you had to take guardianship 24/7, 365 days! Mothers know exactly what that is like.
To manage a nation, it takes an intellect and personality like Prime Minister Najib Razak’s to be in the position of leadership as he proves day in and day out that he is not disturbed by all of the unfounded accusations. He calmly carries out his work for the nation, knowing that the truth will ultimately prevail and his leadership will be vindicated.
Of course, the Prime Minister could waste time and speak on every accusation which surrounds him, but leaders do not do that. A leader’s job is to calmly carry out the task at hand for the good of all the people; even in the midst of adversity.
That perfectly describes Prime Minister Najib Razak; he is the calm in the eye of the storm.
